On Track: A Recap of the 2023 Bell Canadian National Track & Field Championships
The 2023 Bell Canadian National Track & Field Championships were held on July 27-July 30, 2023 in Langley, British Columbia. The event was a convergence of Canada’s fastest runners, highest jumpers, and strongest throwers for the annual national championships. The Township of Langley, B.C., was proud to host the Bell Canadian Track & Field Championships once again for the 2023 edition, after hosting this same meet in 2022. The 2023 edition included national championships for Senior, U20, Para Athletics and Combined Events, serving as Trials for the World Athletics Championships.
The event featured over 1,330+ athletes and 200+ coaches. There were 9 Senior track events, 10 U20 track events, and 11 Para track events. There were also 8 Senior field events, 8 U20 field events, and 6 Para field events. In addition, there was 1 Senior combined event, 1 U20 combined event, 1 Senior Race Walk event, and 1 U20 Race Walk event. Over 700+ medals were awarded during the event.
The atmosphere at the event was electric as the country’s best track and field athletes competed for a national title. For those who couldn’t make it to Langley in person, the 2023 Bell Canadian Track & Field Championships were streamed live on AthleticsCanada.TV.
Overall, the 2023 Bell Canadian National Track & Field Championships were a huge success and showcased the amazing talent of Canadian athletes. It was an exciting four days of Canadian athletics history in Langley, BC.
